The rules of the road, in a page you can actually read.
Effective September 4, 2026. If you use MorrisElder (read our articles, subscribe to the newsletter, send us a message), you agree to these terms. They are short, plain, and honest.
What we are (and are not)
MorrisElder is an independent editorial team. We publish practical guides for family caregivers. We are not a home-care agency, a medical provider, a law firm, or a financial advisor. We do not diagnose, prescribe, place caregivers, or manage anyone's money. When we refer to trusted providers, we say so clearly and we do not take referral fees.
Editorial content is education, not advice
Our articles are written for general education. They are not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice for your specific situation. Before making a decision about a parent's care, a legal document, or money, talk to a licensed professional who knows your circumstances. We link out to authoritative sources so you can dig deeper; use them.
Health information changes. Laws change. We update our guides when the evidence changes and we date every article. If you read something old, check the date at the top.
For matters of federal consumer protection we defer to the Federal Trade Commission's consumer-privacy guidance. For questions about how licensed professionals in New Jersey are regulated (attorneys, social workers, home-care agencies), see the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. We are none of those things; we are an editorial team.
Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- Use MorrisElder for lawful purposes, including your own personal caregiving journey and non-commercial sharing with family and support groups.
- Not scrape or bulk-download the site for republication or AI-training purposes without written permission. Reading, linking, and quoting excerpts with attribution is welcome.
- Not impersonate MorrisElder or the Editorial Team in any communication.
- Not attempt to break, probe, or overload our infrastructure.
Your intellectual property, and ours

You may share full articles by email with individual family or friends. For anything larger — republication, syndication, translation, corporate distribution — email hello@morriselder.com.
If you send us a message, testimonial, or comment, you retain your copyright but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish it (attributed or anonymized, at your choice). We will ask before publishing anything that identifies you.
The newsletter
By subscribing, you consent to receive editorial emails from MorrisElder. You can unsubscribe with one click at the bottom of any email. We handle your email address per our Privacy Policy.
Links to other sites
Where we link to other websites (government resources, elder-law directories, health organizations, care providers), we do so because we think the resource is useful. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those third parties. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them.
No warranties
MorrisElder is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it accurate, current, and available, but we do not guarantee that any specific article is complete or up-to-date for your situation, that the site is always online, or that it is free of every possible error. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the maximum extent the law allows.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MorrisElder and its editorial team, contributors, and vendors are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on any content. Where a jurisdiction does not allow this limit, our aggregate liability to you for any claim is capped at $100.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute you cannot resolve with us by email will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Middlesex County, New Jersey.
Changes to these terms
If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top and notify newsletter subscribers by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of MorrisElder after that date means you accept the new terms.
